re-Must jbpm use database ?

Our client doesn't like databases !! I don't really understand why !! When jbp2 is released ? Does all database operations are done by jbmp transparently ? When a proccesdefinition.xml is modified and re-deployed, does the = database is modified accordingly ? =20 In jbpm2 you could use an in-memory database. (for which you don't have = to configure anything). What problem do you have with a database ?
