compiling 3.1-RC6, kdegraphics fails.

I'm trying to compile kde-3.1-rc6 on SuSE 8.1.  I previously compiled rc5=
 but=20
experienced the same problem with the compilation of kdegraphics.  compil=
ing=20
kde graphics fails with the following error:

Any ideas on what library I'm missing?  Or what library '-lptal' is assoc=
iated=20
with.
