As a matter of fact, I do find annoying (with or without animation) that 
kmail (and thunderbird) updates the new mail window title for every 
single character I type.
In my opinion, it should be buffered, and updated if I don't type a new 
character in say 1/2 second (or even 1 second). If it were so, the 
current animation would work just right.
But hell. Just my opinion.
