Given that application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml is already listed in recent 
shared-mime-info and just misses to have a application-vnd.google-
earth.kml+xml.{svg,png} in the Oxygen icon theme I just filed 
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285033 so this does not get lost in the 
email archives :)

For the GPX format it might take some more time until a proper mimetype string 
is found (application/gpx+xml seems not allowed by IANA), still if anyone is 
going to work on these icons she/he might consider to add a variant with GPX, 
while having these icons under her/his tools :)
