actually, it wouldn't break anything, as the icons are physically copied
for use. which also means that the restrictive license clause is
pointless, especially because on most systems users can set entirely
random images for their own avatars. mwahaha

i want to see at least the technical issues from my previous mail
addressed.
never mind that i don't consider the photographer particularly competent
(the lighting in many of the images sucks). and visual fit with the
surroundings is overrated anyway - we are kde, after all.
