Hi Nuno, yes I see it like you do This set is suppose to start an evolution. There will be better Icons in the Future. Ossi argues there are to many of the same kind (e.g. Flowers) But someone like my wife actually likes to have a colourful diversity. What I meant by saying that you must take all, and delete the old ones is like that was done with wallpapers and other code before. Some old things simply must go. That condition I posted is only for this ONE KDE release. If others take the code base with the pictures, they can do what the LGPL gives them the right to do. With the following next release I will accept that KDE (this artist list) will add other Icons and delete some again. Just for one time I would like to see one whole set as a new start. I Hope that clears my position. thanks, Hermann -------- Original-Nachricht -------- > Datum: Wed, 4 Jan 2012 10:37:47 +0000 > Von: Nuno Pinheiro <[email protected]> > An: [email protected] > Betreff: Re: [kde-artists] User Icons > A Quarta, 4 de Janeiro de 2012 08:13:03 Oswald Buddenhagen você escreveu: > > On Tue, Jan 03, 2012 at 11:31:12AM +0100, Sebastian Kügler wrote: > > > (We can still replace all older icons with newer ones, but it would > > > mean breaking existing setups, which we generally don't do lightly.) > > > > actually, it wouldn't break anything, as the icons are physically copied > > for use. which also means that the restrictive license clause is > > pointless, especially because on most systems users can set entirely > > random images for their own avatars. mwahaha > > > > i want to see at least the technical issues from my previous mail > > addressed. > > never mind that i don't consider the photographer particularly competent > > (the lighting in many of the images sucks). and visual fit with the > > surroundings is overrated anyway - we are kde, after all. > > not startinhg a bikeshead, but that colection is way better than waht we > have > now, so I see it as a "moving foward", nothing is perfect never is. > > > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > > ___ [email protected] | > > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-artists > > -- > oxygen guy, "I make the pretty pictures" -- NEU: FreePhone - 0ct/min Handyspartarif mit Geld-zurück-Garantie!
