Mmm... my bias detector is going off very strongly. For example, because 
Kuwait doesn't exist in historical form prior to the 20th century, that seems 
to be an excuse to invade it!

Well, the thing is, many middle eastern countries are creations of 20th 
century drawings by the French and British... including modern Iraq.

And to suggest the US's involvement with Iran/Iraq is solely for the pleasure 
of Irael is insane, at best. After the overthrow of the Shah we had good 
reason to dislike Iran, although not very good reason to build up Saddam's 
regime to counter it. 

I might add, if Israel was really out to take over the middle east, wouldn't 
they start by not having peace agreements with their neighbors Jordan and 
Egypt?
