My, your country is so free, a man can be shot dead by the police for being black and taking his wallet out while standing at the balcony of his hotel (it was his hotel IIRC, but could have been his house, no time to search but Google is your friend.) After 9/11, fear has led many people in the US exchange too much of their freedom for what they are told is more safety.
