With GNOME 2.x in place, you most likely have FontConfig supported (and RENDER ported) on HP-UX. And it seems, this is not the case. Therefor, task of porting KDE 3.x to HP-UX becomes more difficult. BUT: does HP-UX plays a great role on Desktop? I don't think so. HP-UX is now migrating from PA-RISC architecture to Itanium 2. AFAIK, you can also expect some features of Tru64 *NIX migrated to HP-UX, too. (clustering, scalability, etc.) But all this is about Servers. and as current roadmaps suggest following migration paths: Alpha -> Itanium PA-RISC -> Itanium It's somwhat more critical to get Linux working nicely on Itanium. And port KDE 3.1/3.x to Itanium 2, too. BTW: does someone have Itanium 2-based workstation around?
