but the person and his beliefs are inseparable from what becomes of 
him. otherwise, you're left with a construction the effect of which

if by so doing a threat to the existence of that constitutional state, 
the very nature of that state being used against it, is removed, is 
this not a good thing? as i mentioned earlier, the connection between 
freedom and responsibility cannot for long be cut.

indeed, in asking the question, you tacitly admit that moral 
equivalence is a phantom. this opens whole broad areas of discussion.

in the instant case of each party, the u.k. and the fellow who might 
be deported? what does each seek to do?
