Sounds like the US/UK actions in the Far East, which isn't exactly covered by the term 'Jihad'. What bothers me is that there seems to be a tendency in the media lately to use the term 'Jihad' to imply 'terrorism', which is only worsened when the wider media stretches this to mean 'any attack of any kind with which the author does not personally agree'.
