Enhanced security against viri/trojans

I've been thinking about local security lately, especially regarding viri, 
trojans and other unsavoury software and came up with an idea that may or not 
prove interesting and or useful, so I thought I'd send it to this list where 
I know a fairly wide spectrum of interested parties hang out.
