begin Aaron J. Seigo's quote:

| To the list moderator: This is now the second time in less than 24
| hours that Dennis has resorted to behaviour that is supposed to be
| unnacceptable on this list. His brief haitus from being a
| malcontent is apparently over. Whereas before I was of the opinion
| that he should have open access to this list, my position on that
| is begining to erode in light of his continued antisocial
| behaviour.

a couple of things. first, what was the first of these things in the
last 24 hours?

second, when things are posted here that are off-the-scale ridiculous,
i cannot imagine any non-maoist list that would propose that "you're
being ridiculous" -- which is what my post to you was, though a
little more colorfully put -- would constitute a personal attack.

north korea has flat-out said that it intends to target the united
states with nuclear missiles. indeed, it has said little else for six
months or so. my point, that when there is a rabid dog in your yard
you need to deal with it, is entirely valid; yours, carrying the
metaphor to the fever swamps, is not, because in fact that dog is in
our yard and announcing that it has rabies. and carrying the metaphor
to the moon and back pretty much opens the way for a response which
was, frankly, intended as a pretty good natured poke, as witness the
fact that practically nobody says "you're insane!" to anybody they
actually believe to be insane.
