That depends very much. To support something in principle and still not wish to take the a particular job does not always mean bad character. If there are people, and there are, who have voluntarily signed up to be in the army, one is not forcing them if one supports doing such and such with the army. It was their choice to do so. Supporting a draft and then dodging it would be very different.
