i'd say that a nation whose citizens were steadfastly peaceful would be very 
much worth preserving. we have enough pain, suffering, death and horror in 
the world; we don't need to encourage it by only preserving the most hawklike 
nations. so yes, i'd say such a nation should be preserved above all others, 
for it would already on the path to achieving what the war would likely wish 
to achieve: peace.

if one views it strictly from a bean-counting side of things, it depends on 
how many people you think you can coerce. once enlisted, there are a number 
of effective ways to whip them into shape and a fervour.

yes, it's a horrible business, war. all the better to avoid it at all cost, 
rather than enter it at the drop of a hat as some nations currently do.


btw, i find your .sig rather humerous given the current investigation into the 
Iraq-is-buying-plutonium-from-Africa statements. and wasn't it someone else's 
tagline first, anyways? can't remember who though.... it's just very 
familiar.
