misses the point. BD was on US soil, therefore a domestic issue. rather 
different than invading another nation, wouldn't you say? and it really 
doesn't matter how long it takes one to commit a travesty; i don't think 
anyone made allowances for Jack the Ripper just because he was good and 
quick.

hrm. i haven't heard about all these chemical weapons found. all i've heard 
about it 2^10 false postivies, and some machinery that was used in the WMD 
programs that were dismantled during the 90s and subsequently hidden. where 
are these WMDs, again? oh right, they're still undiscovered but that hasn't 
stopped the US government's propaganda machine from spewing a littany of 
rumours and poorly founded statements that later turn out to be (quietly) 
false.

therefore proving what, that Americans are better at murder and international 
horror-shows than math and electoral honesty?

i think the problem is highlighted nicely by this fellow's viewpoint on 
matters. what matters to him is the efficiency of the operation, not whether 
or not the US actually had any right to "take Iraq". most people have a 
fairly dim view on "taking a nation"; in fact, wasn't that the reason for the  
Iraqi war in the early 90s? Iraq "took" Kuwait and the world responded with 
an ass-whooping in return? 

i think what people want ... no, let me restate... what *I* want (since i can 
only speak for myself) is for Americans as a group to get the point for once. 
that it isn't about how quickly it was done, or whether it was possible to be 
done.

no. the point was that their nation had no business attacking Iraq. the point 
is that they have left Iraq in a state of duress. they have removed the 
despot and replaced him chaos. a chaos of want, a chaos of violence, a chaos 
of tears. way to go.

i would like Americans as a group to do the _truly_ hard thing, which isn't 
standing up to a horrible dictator on the other side of the world but 
honestly facing their own arrogance and ignorance. what does AA say, again? 
something about the first step to healing is admitting you have a problem?
