True, but it's handled the same by my webserver and AFAICT for Google it would 
be one and the same as well.

Right, but for how much I care about referers and such, HTTP_REFERER is 
reliable enough for me.

The best guess I can make, for this instance, is that a user fears 
slashdotting the server and happens to know this could assist a server 
without knowing that HTTP_REFERER would work, or so well that he distrusts 
the unreliability of it.

Or someone wanted to stir up a debate on Slashdot to assist my Google ratings 
and then make a point on how those matter to me while pointing to the post 
screaming "see!".

I like the country, because I seem to have more in common with it than most if 
not all others. That includes a lot of culture such as sports, television, 
what's in the grocery store, how long it's open.. values of people, 
constitutional rights, political views.

I enjoy it when I am there and I notice that when I do in life what's fun and 
what matters to me, I automatically end up eating American food (deep dish 
pizza with pepperoni (that kind of pizza is really nothing like Italian 
anymore), tacos (broad America, but hey, more taco shops in Cali than over 
here) watching American stuff (I sincerely do like Hollywood productions and 
baseball)..

Note I mentioned California. I'd like to live in the US and some people 
respond to that as if I would be moving in on George W. Bush's ranch in 
Texas. Although Barbara is cute (-r than Jenna anyway) and that could be fun, 
Texas is not on my wish list. Houston has an appealing skyline, but that's 
not all it takes. Now the Bay Area would be nice and could use another KDE 
developer now that Charles is paying a visit to the British queen. ;-)

Gosh, I'm glad people don't ask my "why?" all the time when I tell them I like 
a girl. ;-) (yes, you're not the first, and something like this would 
probably not hurt as FAQ on my site)
