I don't think that the app matters, the prereffered desktop does. (I must 
admit that I switched desktops after experiencing Gnome's APIs though :)

Beside that I rather use KDE apps, even if they are inferior, and write bug 
reports and sometimes even patches. This may hurt my productivity sometimes, 
but helps the world...
