Look at the icon. Look at the widget set. This game is far uglier than any KDE application. I'm surprised that Lycoris seriously expect people to pay money for this. Also, it looks like they've been taking marketing lessons from Lindows.com: “Lycoris knows the desktop market,”, explains Jason Spisak, Vice President of Marketing for Lycoris. “Our users want the titles they are accustomed to seeing on other operating systems." In this case, why do they imagine users will be willing to pay for something that comes free with most all operating systems (not least almost any other linux distro)? Solitaire Ace offers many compelling features that enhance gameplay beyond a simple virtual card game. The article then goes on to list features that are available in every other card game. It seems that the target market for both LindowsOS and Lycoris has switched from Windows defectors to first time PC buyers who've probably only ever used Windows at work and nothing more, complete idiots, and any other groups of people who are, for whatever reason, unable to make an informed decision on the purchase. This does not bode well for the long term prospects of either company. On an unrelated matter, who was it that decided that displaying a landscape on the desktop by default was a good usability decision? It seems that Lycoris are now imitating Microsoft with regard to this somewhat strange concept. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/sSfN1nHeH53c6l4RAt8GAJ0RawHg7TKabvndhpGF6KmF9xkJMwCfdA89 8tVxvTdBiIWQkVdYOzfhj9E= =5HkK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Kde-cafe mailing list - [email protected] http://ofb.biz/lists/listinfo.cgi/kde-cafe DISCLAIMER: The views expressed on this mailinglist are the personal opinions of the author and do not represent OfB.biz: Open for Business, KDE or the author's employer.
