Re: Bush began Iraq plan pre-9/11

Some of his stuff doesn't sound too bad, but, while I hate to give him
that much credit, Howard "gets" the Iraq situation -- now that its
happened and can't be "undone" -- better than many anti-war candidates.
Russo's site has a great quote from Dean:

     "Whoever will be elected in 2004 has to live with it (The war in
    Iraq). 'We have no choice. It's a matter of national security. If we
    leave and we don't get a democracy in Iraq, the result is very
    significant danger to the United States.'"

It would also show extreme irresponsibility and prove everyone right
that the U.S. has no determination to stick to what it says it is going
to do. To leave Iraq now would be like repeating what we did to
Afghanistan during the cold war... if you promise to help after you
destroy things, you should stay and help, not leave the people in
anarchy. Pres. Bush is doing good by staying in both Afghanistan and
Iraq.

This Aaron fellow also has an excellent quote from Dubya himself: "The
United States will complete our work in Iraq. Leaving Iraq prematurely
would only embolden the terrorists and increase the danger to America.
We are determined to stay, to fight" 

Right on.
