I have been using the Unison file synchronizer for a while.  It met
all my criteria and beat my expectations.

Now I have my laptop home directory synchronized almost fully with my
desktop home directory and partially synchronized with my school home
directory.  Changes can happen anywhere anytime and unison handles it
nicely.

Absolutely beautiful.  Only lacking a KDE interface.  :-)
