The children claim is not a lie because the number of married couple who can
not or will not have children don't measure against those who can; on the
other hand, same-sex couples are not capable to create children precisely
*because* they are of the same sex.

But I do want not want to give benefits to any random civil union: I have
been raised by both sexes and believe it is an experience that no child
should live without. The role of my mother could not have been replaced with
a second father, nor vice versa.

As for Bush being homosexual: how is that relevant? Many people somehow
mistake the debate as if it were about homophilia or homosexuality, but it
is not, it is about marriage. I'm not even that much in favor of government
stimulating certain social behavior, even enlarging my opposition: if
anything, the government should stop involvement with marriage alltogether,
instead of enlarging its role.
