Folder icons

Does anyone know from the console (i.e. a script) how one would give a Folder 
an icon?  I know that it is a resource fork and you can obtain a icon from a 
Folder that already has one with cat Icon^M/rsrc but I don't know how to 
create one.  Anyone (Please)?
