For kde's build system to work properly with frameworks, we're using a CVS snapshot of libtool, and it requires, I think, 2.58 or higher. I'd suggest getting the newest autoconf and automake, and installing them to your /opt/kde directory, and putting that in the path first. It *should* work OK then.
