Printing a PDF file

Hello and happy new year to everybody on this maillig list.

It is one week I work with  Kword for a school project, though it's in 
alpha state it seems to be quite usable.
The only frustated things is that every time I try to oen the print 
dialog box the application crach, it seems to be the same problem for 
print preview.
Has anyone reached to print on a PDF file?
If yes how you managed the configuration of the print server?
If no how the kde print service interacts with the CUPS print server 
given by Apple or other print server? So I can work on it.
