I decided to give building a standalone version of Kile another try last night: 1. Creating a Carbon bundle/app in Xcode resulted in a file that was 2 gigs. I know that won't work. Since I didn't know exactly what went into the KDE libs and KDE support packages, I just added everything in /opt/kde/libs, as well as Qt. Is there any way to get a handle on only the packages in KDE libs and KDE support? When Ranger Rick a standalone version of Scribus last summer, I believe the bundle he built included both kdelibs and Qt, and was only about 20 megabytes. 2. Is there any way to modify generateapps.sh so that it only builds a single app? Say, by copying it into the Kile source directory? I don't know Perl so I wouldn't know where to begin this on my own. 3. How does one pick an image to be the icon for the app bundle that is built by generateapps.sh? 4. I'd love to just have a drag-and-drop app bundle of Kile for distribution. If that won't work, and if I want to put together a single package installer for OS X LaTex users not interested in all the other KDE stuff, I'm thinking that a mkpkg installer including Ranger Rick's pkg installers of Kdelibs, Qt, KDEsupport (plus of course Kile) would be the simplest approach. Or is there a better way?
