Kile now runs natively on OS X

I wanted to let the Mac-TeX list know that Kile, the KDE/Linux LaTeX 
editor, now runs natively on Mac OS X. This has come as a result of the 
work of Benjamin Reed and others on the KDE-Darwin team, who have done 
the heavy lifting in getting KOffice, Konqueror, and a variety of other 
KDE applications to run on OS X natively (not under Fink/X11). I saw 
that no one had gotten Kile to build, so with Benjamin's assistance I 
got the program to build and run and he added it to the binaries that 
are available for download.

I wanted to give Kile a try because I've used it a bit on Linux and 
like it quite a bit. It's a full-featured LaTeX editor and is very 
straightforward to use. I'm still configuring/tweaking it for my use, 
but the screenshot give you the general idea. In terms of look and 
feel, once it's configured with the native Mac OS widgets (it doesn't 
use them out of the box, but editing a couple of config files actives 
them), it feels like any other modern Mac OS application--certainly a 
bit more modern than some of the older Mac-TeX application such as 
OzTeX, in my view (and it's free/open-source). Obviously no one will 
mistake it for a Cocoa application, but  it's a nice addition to the 
Mac-TeX toolkit.
