Well there's at least one person on it :-)

I'm not sure if you know, that the latest KDE and many applications are
already ported by the Fink project, and working well on OS X, using the
X-window system. You can get it through fink.sourceforge.net. I'm not
sure where discussion or specific information about that port lives.

This mailing list, and the KDE on Darwin Wiki, is instead about porting
KDE to native Aqua, using QT/Mac, i.e. not using X-windows. A lot of it
is working, but not ready for prime-time yet, and unfortunately going a
bit slowly.

If you want your favourite KDE program running on your Mac, you're
probably best to help port the program to work with KDE on X11 from fink
at the moment. But helping with the QT/Mac port is good too!

I'm not a programmer, just a long-time Mac user and a list lurker who is
patiently hoping Benjamin Reed (a.k.a. Ranger Rick) and the others will
be blessed with more spare time and volunteers to work on the Aqua port
so I can continue to feed my blue eye-candy addiction :-)

I have to admit being quite confused between the two projects at first
myself.

I think it would be more clear if this project was called something
other than KDE-Darwin, since the fink X11 port could just as well (or
even more so) be called KDE-Darwin - Darwin being basically OS X without
Aqua. Actually, Benjamin usually calls this KDE/Mac in his blog, which
made me think KDE-Darwin was the other one - which he's also in charge
of, which also made me confused at first. Um, and still does sometimes.
Personally I think KDE/Aqua would best differentiate it from KDE/...
well the X11 one doesn't seem to have a name other than the "fink KDE
port" or something.

It also doesn't help I guess, that there's no link to the KDE fink X11
port on the KDE on Darwin wiki, or especially, that the home pages and
FAQs at kde.org seem to make no mention of Darwin or OS X availability
at all - even though it lists all the gnu/linux distros, and links to
the Solaris and FreeBSD ports on the front page.

I think both of the Darwin/Mac projects are highly commendable and
deserve to be well-recognized! I don't know the politics, but maybe
kde.org would like to give darwin.kde.org, and a link under "KDE
Projects" for a page that describes them?
