Hello! UserLinux has apparently published a first draft of their CD. It is based on Morphix, which is the modular livecd-project. I was thinking if we could publish a KDE mainmodule for Morphix... it would save work, since we could then use the Morphix kernel, hardware detection and installer. ---------- Uudelleen lähetetty viesti ---------- Subject: [Morphix-devel] UserLinux Live CD / Morph Date: 18.09.2004 03:30 From: Alex de Landgraaf <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Hi guys, just wanted to share the following post from the UL list. Please be aware that this is a preview release and that it's based on 0.5-pre2, with a sarge/UserLinux mainmodule. Yes, I've been plugging :) It does look quite a bit like Morphix Gnome, but doesn't include the standard morphix tools (installer, partitioner, config tools). Anyway, have fun! --- Bruce Perens <[email protected]> wrote: >> A Userlinux desktop live CD is available at >> http://hams.com/Mirror/userlinux-live-0.2.iso >> This allows you to test and demo the system on any >> i386 PC without touching a hard disk. >> This system is somewhat lower performance than the >> hard disk version, simply because of the seek >> and access speed of a CD vs. a hard disk, and the >> fact that the filesystem is a RAM disk. >> Don't try to boot it on a system with less than 128K >> RAM, and the more RAM the better. >> >> Alex de Landgraaf contributed the CD. >> >> Thanks >> >> Bruce Perens cheers, Alex ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE.
