Looks really good to me. Fonts are perfect, colours are bright and clean and 
the windeco (knifty, or what was it called?) and icons (nuvola) fit very well 
with any existing crystal-based icons/images/splashscreens and still give it 
a very distinct look and feel... 

One thing I personally don't like, though one might argue that it makes for a 
cleaner look, is the absence of (visible) handles for the various parts that 
make up kicker - the little things that enable you to move them around.

Some things I'd change as well are
- adding a Virtual Desktop Pager (with only two VDs), since it looks quite 
cool in KDE 3.3.... oh and for the added functionality ;)
- move the show-desktop icon right next to the K-Menu icon
- add the date to the clock and make the font for the time a bit bigger/bold 
(date would be quite a bit smaller than time is now)

Even though I've set up MEPIS for my girlfriend now I really can't wait to see 
what you will come up with!
