Hello! I'm trying to recompile my KDE installation with apt-get/apt-build to get a speed improvement. My problem is, that when running 'apt-get build-dep kdebase4' it complains about a missing package named 'libtiff3g-dev'. This package is only available in Debian Woody, but that version is incompatible with Sarge (se output below). Have I found a bug or is this something users are supposed to live with? Where can I find a libtiff3g-dev-package for Sarge? # apt-get build-dep kdelibs4 => Package libtiff3g-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from another source E: Package libtiff3g-dev has no installation candidate E: Failed to satisfy Build-Depends dependency for kdelibs: libtiff3g-dev (after adding Debian stable repository: ) # apt-get install libtiff3g-dev => The following packages have unmet dependencies: libtiff3g-dev: Depends: libtiff3g (= 3.5.5-6) but 3.6.1-2 is to be installed E: Broken packages -- Otto Kekäläinen / Sange.fi
