Konstruct, KDE 3.3.1, screensaver problem

I just installed/compiled KDE 3.3.1 with Konstruct on a Libranet/Debian
system. Everything went smoothly, except for one thing. I find that if I
lock the KDE 3.3.1 desktop, the username/password login dialogue won't
accept my password. I can only think that some dev package must be missing
somewhere, so the compilation didn't produce a properly functioning
username/password login routine. This doesn't happen if I use IceWM as my
desktop, with xscreeensaver running the screen saving security.

Anyone know what package that might be, if that's the problem.
