<nitpick>
Firstly, please refer to the XFree86 Project as XFree86; capital X and
capital F, don't forget the '86'. They get kind of narky if you don't
(and fair enough too, IMO).

Secondly, XRandR is a common X extension. Right now, it's only
implemented by two servers - XFree86, and fd.o's xserver (formerly
TinyX/KDrive), but it will work with xserver, and anyone who wants to
implement the extension to X11. Apparently others are working on it.
