I'm working on this.  My initial goal is to create a package that you can 
apt-get after installing KDE 3.2 that will greatly simplify the menu 
structure.

After that, I'd like to learn what Eva has done to simplify the K Desktop (for 
Munich trials??).  I asked her to check in her notes to 
kdenonbeta/kdedebian/livecd/gui module, but I don't know if she did.  In 
general, I'm open to suggestions or references to work that others have done 
along these lines.

Finally, we need a better meta-package than the existing "kde"--it pulls in 
tons of stuff I don't think we need.  Liz made a good start.  (Alex I think 
KDevelop belongs in a separate meta package, a kde-developer (or whatever).  
Maybe a kde-graphics should be seperate as well.)
