AFAIK, you don't need to recompile gtk apps if libqtgtk is on your system. 
This librairie enable GTK+ people wishing to do so to use the qt event loop. 
Then they can use KDE dialogs as if they were GTK+ natives dialog. For more

So we need it only for applications that depend on it, other GTK+ applications 
won't be disturbed by this... No need to recompile GTK+ apps.
