k d e used by a total

Hello.  I am no programmer, just an end user that is curious about =
different desktops.
I am totally blind and have used orca with the following distributions =
and desktops:
ubuntu, gnome and mate
fedora, mate
Now I am running arch with i38 and what I like about this is that the =
fenrir screenreader works in the console.
Because a total needs to work everything with keyboard, and use orca, I =
am curious as to any advantage of using k d e.
If there is a reason for trying k d e, with which distributions might =
one use it?
I am sure each desktop has its advantages and its disadvantages.
I welcome anyone's words about this topic.=
