I'm seeing different, but similar inconsistency in the slide animation for the
wallpaper when switching between activities
I can reproduce this on Plasma built from git-master, even with a single laptop
screen, and with Plasma 6.7.3 with two screens

On both systems, when switching between activities, most of the time the
wallpapers will do the slide animation
After a few switches, specific Activities will not show the slide animation,
the others will

In addition, on 6.7.3 with dual display:
With one specific Activity, the slide animation fails on the laptop screen 
Another activity fails to perform the slide animation on the external monitor
