Hello Tracey,
I have switched to the openSUSE Leap distro, with KDE. Good news and bad news.
The good news: The computer boots properly, and I am able to use as needed. The
bad news: my GPU is an older Nvidia GeForce GT 710. So far, I have been unable
to discover an active driver, so my computer is basically relying on the CPU,
which is really ramping up, while the GPU is basically idle. So, I am currently
seeking a way to get openSUSE to recognize and make use of my GPU. A work in
progress. When I can I will upgrade to a newer computer, but that might be down
the road a ways. Thank you for your response. It would appear I need to solve
the older-GPU issue moving forward. Thank you.
