I am not able to reproduce this on Plasma built from git-master with a laptop
and an external monitor, using the steps to reproduce
After disconnecting the external screen, the built-in screen is switched to
Sleep happens at the timeout I set

On Plasma 6.7.3, the Display Configuration widget and settings panel have a
different bug, so I'm unable to test with that version.

After you disconnect the external monitor, does the system enable the laptop's
built in display?
