I am also affected by this. 

because I remember I had an issue with nvidia/wayland some time ago (with
Filelight I think?) I tried:

QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb kamoso 

and just like that it worked. 

I also have this problem with another non-kde webcam application (webcamoid if
anyone wants to know) but the above did not help.
