This seems rather narrow to me. It only applies to apps that the user installs
but does not actually want to run, and the badge will go away after three days
anyway. And if you really want the badge gone now, why not just launch and
close the app? Seems like the same amount of effort (click, close window vs.
right-click, click menu entry for "Mark as not newly installed").
