Bug ID: 523914
Summary: Face tag assignment sometimes resolves to a non-face
tag with the same leaf name
Classification: Applications
Product: digikam
Version First 9.1.0
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Faces-Workflow
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
I have two different tags with the same leaf name but located in different
branches of the tag hierarchy, for example:
- "Photographer/John Smith" (a regular tag)
- "Subject/John Smith" (a face tag)
When assigning the face tag to a large number of detected faces (using the
People tab), DigiKam initially assigns the correct face tag (Subject/John
Smith). However, after a number of images, it unexpectedly starts assigning the
regular tag (Photographer/John Smith) instead.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a tag "Subject/John Smith", mark it as a face tag
2. Create a tag "Photographer/John Smith"
3. Detect faces in many images (20+)
4. In the People tab, select all the detected faces and assign "Subject/John
Smith"
OBSERVED RESULT
After several successful assignments with "Subject/John Smith", DigiKam starts
assigning
"Photographer/John Smith" instead. From that point on, all subsequent
assignments in the same batch will receive the wrong face assignation.
EXPECTED RESULT
All selected faces should receive the "Subject/John Smith" tag
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window): Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.28
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The tag name autocompletion UI only shows the face tags (as expected)
- Reassigning wrongly tagged faces with the right tag, deleting the "face tag"
status to "Photographer/John Smith" won't prevent the problem from occurring
again at next face tag batch assignation
- So far, I have never encountered the bug when assigning face tags to a single
image
- Metadata in MySQL and embedded in JPEG files.
