Your Krita version 5.2.3 has been released over 2 years ago, it doesn't make much sense to report a bug against such an old version, the cause of the crash may have been fixed long ago. Whether the file is recoverable is hard to say without the file. It may start working again on its own if you update your Krita. You can also try saving it as an ORA file and then check whether that contains more data.
