This isn't actionable. > When using native Wayland applications which uses CPU rendering such as Kate, Dolphin, Konsole, Kwin is very jittery and the workaround is to launch application with Xwayland with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb. I previously opened a bug about this issue (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=513295), but it was closed without being solved and tested. It was absolutely solved and tested, the fix just had to be disabled for Nvidia specifically to work around an Nvidia driver bug. > * Opening display settings and clicking on "Identify screens" freezes Kwin for ~500 ms. > * Opening tab box with ALT+TAB also freezes Kwin for ~500 ms the first time (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479250). > * Moving a window the edges of a screen freezes Kwin for ~300 ms the first time. All of those are caused by creating OpenGL contexts taking even longer on Nvidia than with Mesa. Attempts to re-use contexts haven't been fully successful so far, though I hope to still figure it out for 6.8. > When my Nvidia GPU hangs ...for any reason, it's entirely expected that there would be some problems, and the cursor being frozen for a small moment while the GPU reset is handled is not a problem worth worrying about > On Xorg and GNOME Wayland Neither of the two handle GPU resets, so the comparison isn't useful. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 522424 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
