Thanks, David. There's something that maybe we have to take into account: when
you install Kubuntu, Akonadi comes disabled.

Personally, I disable Akonadi if it ever gets enabled.

I use kalarm every day, after having followed these other steps from you (which
I quoted on <https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316338#c2> and that may be
useful for other people or cases):

> View -> [Show] Calendars
> If you don't see any calendars listed, you can add an existing calendar file (or create
> a new calendar file) by clicking the Add button under the Calendars list. The default
> active alarms calendar file is [~/.local/share/kalarm/calendar.ics] (or similar path,

and in "Display name", I write a name (for example, "Main calendar").
