Just today I tried out the development version,
rkward-master-2651-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage. 2026-08-10 02:06 391M

On a Linux Mint laptop with r-base 4.6.1-4.2404.0, it presented the same
behavior; it crashed as soon as you submitted any command from the
Kate editor. Reverted to the 0.8.3 app image stable, and it worked again.
Any changes there? For testing purposes, I downloaded it to a KDE NEON
installation, and submitting commands from the interface worked, but when
sending commands from the Kate editor, it crashed instantly.
