--- Comment #10 from Sanfod Rockowitz <[email protected]> ---
ddcutil 2.2.8-dev contains changes to function i2c_check_open_bus_alive() that
harden it against unexpected input. Please build from branch 2.2.8-dev on
https://github.com/rockowitz/ddcutil/ and install.

Add the following line to the **[global]** section in
$HOME/.config/ddcutil/ddcutilrc then restart powerdevil.
~~~
--trcfunc i2c_check_open_bus_alive
~~~
Do you see the same failure in i2c_check_open_bus_alive()? Whether or not you
do, please submit the output of **journalctl -b -t org_kde_powerdevil**
beginning with the most recent line "Starting libddcutil", i.e. the one
preceding the action that causes failure.

Also, I would like to see the output of **sudo ddcutil interrogate** with the
tablet installed.

The output for each of these will be voluminous. I suggest you submit them as
attachments rather than inline. That, for me at least, makes reading through a
bug report thread much easier to follow.
