Hello,

yesterday i have install Debian Woody on my computer. Then i think ok i
want tu run KDE, Sylpheed-Claws und Mozilla Firebird. First i was at
www.kde.org and get instructions how to install KDE 3.1.4 on Debian
Woody. OK i do it on the instruktion way but there was no chance to get
a running KDE 3.1.4 with this. So i had download three packages from
http://download.kde.org/stable/latest... and install it by hand. OK then
KDE was running. Next i'm tried to install a actuall Version of
Sylpheed-Claws. The Problem was that there is no newer backport than
version 8.4 available at apt-get.org. Next i want to install Mozilla
Firebird, the german Version. I get the GTK2 and XFT Version from
firebird-browser.de and install it. Via backports i get the required
GTK2 and XFT but huh i need GLIB 2.3! Bullshit no Firebird.

My normaly system is Debian SID and when i use Debian Woody i feel like
into the stoneage! When i compare Debian Sid with Windows, Sid is the
most stable on. And the problem i see in using Woody will be that there
are not the most current software is available.

Greetings
Sascha
