Hello! I am writing to you as a Fedora KDE packager and would like to bring to your attention an old problem related to the name of the game KBreakOut. We first got a bug 10 years ago: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi? id=1167062 It essentially says that Breakout is trademarked in the USA: https:// tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=76062330&caseType=SERIAL_NO&searchType=statusSearch And thus, Fedora has been _renaming_ this software downstream by the means of this script: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/kbrickbuster/blob/rawhide/f/ patch.sh I opened an issue on Invent mentioning the problem: https://invent.kde.org/ games/kbreakout/-/issues/2 Which lead to another of our contributors to submit a MR: https:// invent.kde.org/games/kbreakout/-/merge_requests/16 However, Albert Astals Cid mentioned that we should go through the community in order to get an application renamed (thanks for the pointer :-) ) And here we are! Would everybody be ok with such a name change? KBreakOut -> kbrickbuster ? Feedback, opinions and discussions welcome! Best regards, Marc Deop
