Bug#38972: Block cut and paste is screwed

Version: 2.0 (using KDE 3.0.0 )
Installed from:    RedHat RPMs
Compiler:          gcc 2.96
OS:                Linux
OS/Compiler notes: RedHat 7.3 Kernel 2.4.18-3

Cut and paste in block mode is completely screwed.
It used to work perfectly in kwrite (KDE 1).

I'm not sure whether or not this has already been reported and fixed because the bug report #38972 is not very clear about it.

I love Kate and I really wish this will be fixed.
